In the third section of the book The boy in the Stripped Pajamas introduces Shmuel. Bruno comes upon a fence that he follows until he sees a young boy sitting on the different cheek of the fence. The shoeless boy is wearing striped pajamas and a cloth cap. Bruno also notices that the boy is wearing an armband with a sense datum on it. Bruno makes fast friends with the boy, Shmuel. Chapter 11 goes back to describe the change surface in Berlin several months earlier, when the hysterical neurosis comes to Brunos house and everything changes. Fury being satisfied and impressed, what a lovely dinner has it been this even away (page 122) Back in todays age, Bruno asks Shmeul why in that respect are so many people on his side of the fence and what they are doing there. Shmeul reflects upon his past to search for an answer, leading to thoughts intimately wearing Jewish armbands every time he got out of his house and that he had to move with his parents in a elf care flat in Cracow shortly after. He described the rest home being very uncomfortable There was one exquisite window in it but I didnt like to look out of it because then I would see the surround and I hated the wall because our real home was on the other side of it.

(page 127) This passage really delivers a message of discrimination as Shmuel and his family and to be moved from his house to a small flat being surrounded by soldiers and a wall. This makes the reader more aware of this situation surrounding the Jews on the other side of the fence. This section is consequential because it reveals important memoir and thoughts of Shmeul, whos an important character of this story. It also reveals more schooling on the influence Hitler has on Brunos family.
