Major historical events which have occurred in the development of the lawn mower, from 1830, to the present day:

Reel mowers:

The first lawn mower was invented by Edwin develop in 1827. Buddings mower was designed to bite the lawn on sports grounds and expensive gardens as an alternative to the scythe. He was Patented 1830.




Edwin make the connection between red-hot technology and daily life. He observed a mold at a local a local textiles sub that trimmed cloth with a blade reel or cutting cylinder. Edwin teamed up with john Ferrabee and together they produced the worlds first lawn mower.





The two engineers simply took the bladed reel, mounted it on a wheeled cart and arranged a system of rules of gears to transfer wheel rotation to reel rotation.
The reel mowers were heavy, and made of cast iron, but after Budding and Ferrabees unmixed expired, other inventors began to improve their design. The new reel mowers, invented by other engineers, were lighter and required less effort to push. Even nigh inventors added chains rather than gears, much like those on bicycles.
