The worshipper…or The Criminal?
The movie, The Believer directed and written by Henry Bean, contemplated the idea of crime and how it grows and evolves within a person. The handler of the movie uses the storyline of a youngish Jewish boy turned neo-Nazi. By demoing a serious of flashbacks, the coach conveys his theory about crime inception in the minds of young children and it slowly develops as the child grows up.
The plot of the film is to show the hatred of Jews and how neo-Nazis believe that they are the destined ones to be eliminated. The young character whom the plot is written about is the champion of the film. The protagonist is a young man from New York City who is Jewish but also a neo-Nazi, Daniel Balint. Daniel presents his ideology about Jews being the bringers of all things evil, like bankruptcy, corruption, and other financial failures in the world. The beginning of the movie Daniel is full of hatred for his nationality and wishes the Jewish population to be eliminated. But then as the movie progresses the tension Daniel faces internally begins to grow and he is faced with the realization that he his abandoning his identity.
Daniel, the protagonists, wants to implement the Jewish population because he believes that he needs to read them a lesson for all of the injustices they commit as ethnic group. Daniel presents his ism to a group of neo-Nazis fascists; he believes an investment banker and diplomat by the name, Ilio Manzetti, should be the first target. Ilio Manzetti is French Bulgarian Jew, Daniel wants him to be a target because he is an important figure that will attention his message to strike the Jewish community. Daniel advises the members of the fascist group that if a person assimilates the Jewish population, the population would disappear within hunting lodge and become insignificant and thus is eliminated.
