Emerson Thoreau compare contrast

Sometimes, an essay could be about two characters and the writer could be asked to write an essay that compares and contracts the two characters. For instance, the writer could be asked to compare and contrast Emerson and Thoreau. In such a situation, the writer would be expected to look at the lives of the two characters in a manner that brings out the similarities and differences between the two characters.

This kind of an essay would be referred to as Emerson Thoreau compare contrast essay. When writing such an essay, the most important thing would be first to understand the two characters.

Who are they? Look at how they are depicted in the works of art that talk about. These characters could for instance be featured in a literary text by the same author. The author however looks at these characters from different lenses by molding their characters differently and in some cases, similarly.

The writer would therefore first read the text that features the two characters then analyze their character rigs by comparison and contrast. When making a comparison of Emerson and Thoreau, look at the similarity in their character. For instance, if Emerson is high tempered, does Thoreau show any signs of high temperament? If yes, then the two characters are coinciding and would make a good comparison of the two.

However, when contrasting the two characters, for every positive character of Emerson, the writer should give an opposite negative character of Thoreau. When contrasting the two characters, it is important that the writer does not give a quality of the other character which is not directly opposite of the other character’s quality. This is what makes a good contrast between the two characters.
