Till We Have Faces And Love

Abigail Meyer Seminar 3 For me, Till We Have Faces was an interesting retelling of the ancient Grecian mythology of Cupid and Psyche. I appreciated that Lewis didnt simple restate the tier scarce he took elements and modified. In this version Lewis explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the relationships between humans and the divine. I conceptualise that assembly should prompt the reader to relate to the pillow slips of the story. When that character fights with a question or issue, a acceptable fiction story should make the readers also question themselves in turn. Lewis did a good job of this. He finished the story so alone that I was unaware of the deep questions instilled in me. In my seminar I want to focus on one detail scenery that stood out to me.As Psyhces oldest sister, Orual has taken on the role of caretaker in the absence of a mother or caring father. The for the first time part of the book is written where Orual is retelling about her life how the god s unfairly treated her. In fact, she starts the tale with a statement that she has no husband, no family, no loved ones, no riches, and no nation to lose, so she feels free to tell the world just how severely the gods have treated her. There is nothing else they can do to hurt her. In this way, I felt connected with Oruals character.
