Othello

Othello Iagos Manipulation

Iago says at the get offning of Othello … I am non what I am. (Ii66). In Act III, we see the widening opening move between who he really is, and who he pretends to be. The audience, a visualise to all that happens on stage, knows the truth, but the characters in the play are fooled by Iago.

In Scene III, Iago really begins to poison Othellos mind. wholly of his plans are finally beginning to be put into action. Iago anticipates and manipulates the opposite characters so skillfully that they seem to be acting simultaneously of their own free will and as Iagos puppets. When Cassio hurries away by and by talking to Desdemona, Iago see this as the perfect opportunity to begin to pit Othello against his wife. Iago begins by saying Ha! I equal not that. (IIIiii35). Othello immediately becomes suspicious and questions Iago as to what he means. Iago asks if Cassio knew that Othello and Desdemona had been perceive each other secretly before they got married, and Othello says indeed he did, he was their go-between. Othello asks Iago why he is asking so umpteen questions, and Iago feigns innocence, which makes Othello make up more anxious to know what Iago is thinking. Iago makes Othello practice him even more, and become suspicious of Desdemona and Cassio simultaneously; he says to Othello My lord, you know I love you.
