Fall of Icarus

Christepher ClarkApril 3, 2009English 102-KiernanFall of Icarus This allusion to a classical myth by William Carlos Williams tells a drool of what the environment was like when Icarus overleap into the ocean.  The myth tells that Icarus father Daedalus crafted a set of wings out of heighten for severally of them to campaign from exile.  Before they took off, Daedalus warned Icarus non to fly too close to the sun or too close to the sea.  After they began flying Icarus became overwhelmed by his new ability and flew too high.  The sun melted the wax wings and Icarus fell into the sea where he drowned to death.  When Daedalus had realized what had happed, he decided to bury his son on an island which is now called Icaria.  The sea into which Icarus fell is to a fault known as the Icarian Sea rigid between Cyclades and Asia Minor. (Icarus) This poesy allows the reader to focus on the dustup by not having a rhyming scheme, which would make a poem such as this one sound a little too childish.  The free-verse style of narration also leaves virtually room for an interestingnessing arrangement of the words.  The last line of each stanza should go with the ideas of the next stanza.  This enjambment strings the reader on the poem, until the main idea in the last two lines.
